SEETEST 2025: The 14th Edition in Sofia, Bulgaria
- 07 Oct 2025

The 14th edition of SEETEST took place on September 25-26, 2025, returning once again to Sofia, Bulgaria, this time at the stunning Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia an Online. With its modern design, state-of-the-art conference facilities, and breathtaking views of the city, the venue provided a fitting backdrop for one of the region’s most anticipated software testing events. The conference was held in its traditional Hybrid format, both onsite and online, and brought together over 600 participants from 32 countries, underlining SEETEST’s growing international appeal.
The event began on September 24 with two full-day pre-conference courses: “Automation in Testing - Design Patterns for Optimal Approach” led by Predrag Skokovic, and “The Tester’s Guide to Artificial Intelligence: From Myths to Metrics” led by Baris Sarialioglu. These in-depth sessions gave attendees valuable practical insights and set the stage for the knowledge-rich conference that followed.
On September 25, SEETEST opened with a strong program of tutorials. The morning tutorials included:
• Prompt Engineering for Software Test by Dr. Klaudia Dussa-Zieger
• Test Automation Strategies with Design Thinking by Baris Sarialioglu
• Chaos Testing: The Guilty Pleasure of Breaking Stuff by Almudena Daehin
• The Art of Conflict and Collaboration by Mette-Bruhn Pedersen
The afternoon tutorials featured:
• Exploratory Testing: Pair-Testing with Your GenAI by Rik Marselis
• Don’t Say Hello to LLM! by Maryna Didkovska
• Better Software Based on Quality Engineering by Michaël Pilaeten
• Load Tests Automation in k6 Tool by Tomasz Klepacki
That evening, participants came together for the traditional Social Event at the elegant Ariana Hall Event Center. With its spacious setting, lively atmosphere, and breath taking view to the Ariana Lake, it was the perfect place to network, relax, and enjoy the entertainment of the band Duо Mania, who kept the energy high throughout the night.
Day 2 featured two thought-provoking keynote presentations that became highlights of the event: “LLMs and Test Automation” by Dr. Klaudia Dussa-Zieger and “Five Reasons Why You Should NOT Use GenAI” by Rik Marselis.
The program featured 40 speakers across 2 keynotes, 24 presentations and 3 industrial slots. We had 6 sessions: AI, Test Automation, TPI, Testing in General, Security Testing, and Test Design, organized into 4 parallel tracks. Industrial slots were presented by Visteon Corporation, Flutter International and Quality House – with an engaging panel on “ISTQB Training in Action: Experiences from the Field.”
The presentations of the session speakers were carefully selected by the SEETEST Program Committee, which also had the responsibility of determining the Best Paper Award. This year, the award went to Jana Markovikj for “OKRs for Your Tests: Elevate Your Approach to Test Design.” The Best Presentation Award, chosen by the audience, went to Gjore Zaharchev for his inspiring talk “Writing Clean and Maintainable Automated Tests.”
SEETEST 2025 would not have been possible without the invaluable support of its sponsors - Visteon Corporation, Flutter International, Valtech, Acronis, Amusnet, EPAM Systems, and Solved. The organizers from SEETB and Quality House extend their heartfelt thanks to the sponsors, as well as to all participants, speakers, and contributors who made the event a resounding success.
The organizers also announced that the next edition, SEETEST 2026, will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia and Online, continuing SEETEST’s tradition of uniting and inspiring the global software testing community. See you there!
